Julia Holland Tree was born 26 July 1858 in London , England , daughter of Daniel Holland and Margaret Keagen. When about 18 years of age she married Edward William Tree on 25 December 1876. They lived in London for several years. When their third child was two years old they came to America , not for the Gospel but to make a living. They lived in Centerville , Idaho and in Snyderville, Summit County and Syracuse , Davis County , Utah .
She was the mother of eight (8) children, namely: Emma Margaret, Edward James, Ellen Harriet. These three were born in England . Amelia, Martha Louise (who died at the age of 1 year), Clarence Percy, Julia Agnes, and Albert William.
She joined the church while in Idaho , being baptized 6 June 1889. In the first part of December 1913 she was asked to be President of the Syracuse Primary, which she accepted. This position she held until 1916. She was deeply loved by all the children, as she was one with them in work or play.
The Bishop asked her to be President of the Relief Society work in November 1915, but was not released from the Primary work until January 1916. Through all the sickness of the Flu during World War I, she was a very faithful worker, and dearly loved by all. She was released 8 March 1921. Her health was very poorly from waiting on the sick and laying away those who died with the Flu. She died at the home of her daughter Emma at Hoytsville, Summit County , Utah , after an illness of four months. She died 9 November 1936. She was buried in Syracuse , Davis County , Utah .
