Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Wilde Die Only Hours Apart Monday Morning
Joseph Edward Wilde, 83, and Susie O'Driscoll Wilde, 87, died in their home in Coalville Monday, October 16 of natural causes at 6:45 and 8 a.m. respectively.
They were married October 5, 1904 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and recently celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. They were the first couple to receive their marriage license from the Summit County courthouse after its completion.
Mr. Wilde was born Sept. 11, 1884 in Coalville, the son of Fredrick and Jemima Clark Wilde. He was an Elder in the LDS church, a rancher and a butcher and served on the Coalville City Council.
Mrs. Wilde was born May 13, 1880 in Kamas, the daughter of John Knight O'Driscoll and Sarah Ellen Neibour. She served in various offices of the Coalville Camp of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, served many years in the Coalville Ward Relief Society presidency and as an active visiting teacher.
They are survived by the following children; Leland, Park City; Mrs. Annie W. Reese, Coalville; Fred, Orem; Lloyd O., Henefer; Mrs. Elmo (Ellen) Carpenter, Jessie E. and Albert J., all of Salt Lake City; 22 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
She is survived by brothers and sisters, Issac and Jesse O'Driscoll, Kamas and Mrs. Gladys Zabriskie of Salt Lake City.
Services were held at 1 p.m. in the Summit Stake Center with burial in the Coalville City Cemetery.
